How to care about Peelo products?
SAVE MONEY 💰, FOOD 🥑 AND NATURE 🌳 with PEELO

Heat the wrap with the warmth of your hands and cover the dish with it or wrap the rest of the food. Peelo adapts perfectly to any shape.

After use, rinse with lukewarm water, if necessary, use ecological detergent and a soft sponge. Allow to dry freely or wipe with a cloth.

We do not recommend direct contact with raw meat, fish or moldy cheeses. Leave such foods in the dish and cover it.

Do not put the packaging in hot water, the microwave or expose it to direct sunlight, as this would damage the wax layer. Do not leave it in a permanently humid environment either.
Peelo and its use
Is it necessary to wash the Peelo before the first use?
No, the package does not need to be washed before the first use, it is immediately ready for use.
Which foods can be packed in Peel?
Hard cheeses, bread and pastries, fruits and vegetables, herbs, sandwich breads and sandwiches. Peelo can also be used to cover a bowl with a spread, leavened dough, or cover a baking sheet with a cake.
What foods to avoid?
Be particularly careful with raw meat, raw fish and moldy cheeses. In addition, Peelo may not be able to tolerate fruits that have a higher acidity, such as pineapple.
How to properly wrap food in Peelo?
Warm the wax wrapper a little with your hands, it will be easier to handle. Cover the food with Peel on each side, pressing gently so that the packaging adheres well and excess air is squeezed out. And that's it!
How to wash the Peelo wrap when it is greasy/dirty?
Just wash the packaging under a stream of lukewarm water and gently clean it with a sponge with ecological soap. The packaging should not be scrubbed too hard so as not to disturb the wax layer.
Can Peelo be washed in a washing machine or dishwasher?
No, Peelo does not belong in the washing machine or dishwasher.
Can the packaging become discolored from food?
Yes, some crops such as beetroot, strawberries or even various sauces can color the packaging and Peelo will acquire a colored patina over time. However, if you want to keep it as clean as possible, wash it as soon as possible after use, but always only in cold or lukewarm water. Or put raw materials with strong pigment in a bowl and cover it.
Can the smell of beeswax transfer to food?
Yes, it can. It happens mainly at the beginning, when the package is new and its smell is most intense. If you want to avoid this, just wash the packaging thoroughly several times, the smell will weaken until it gradually disappears completely.
How to properly store Peelo when not in use?
We recommend storing clean and dry packaging in a dry, dark place away from heat or direct sunlight, for example in a food cabinet.
Can Peelo go in the fridge and freezer?
Sure, feel free to put food wrapped in Peelo in the fridge. Peelo can also go in the freezer, but for a maximum of 1 month, and after taking it out, let it warm up a little at room temperature, otherwise the wax layer could crack.
Can Peelo be restored?
Clearly. The entire procedure for this is described in detail on our blog .
The packaging has too strong a smell. Can something be done about it?
The smell of beeswax is a natural part of our wax packaging. It is the most intense at the beginning and it can be uncomfortable for some. In this case, it is sufficient to wash Peelo several times under a stream of lukewarm water with ecological detergent. The smell will weaken and disappear with repeated use.
Can food go moldy in Peelo?
Yes, it can happen. Any food that remains in the package for an excessively long time will become moldy.
What to do when food goes moldy in Peelo? Can the packaging still be saved?
Even if something has gone moldy in Peelo, nothing may be lost and the packaging can still be saved. However, it depends on the stage of the mold.
If you caught it in time, it is possible to save Peelo by washing it properly - gently but thoroughly scrubbing with a sponge and soapy water. In the case of a wax bag, it must be turned inside out. Then leave the Peelo to dry freely.
If, even after it has dried, it seems that the mold has not been completely cleaned, just to be sure, put Peelo in the oven heated to 90 degrees on baking paper (in the case of a bag, we recommend putting one baking paper between the two layers of the bag to prevent them from sticking together ) and leave Peelo there for 2-3 minutes. The wax layer is thus restored and the high temperature should also destroy the remaining mold particles.
However, if the mold is in an advanced stage and you still feel it after these attempts, we recommend cutting up the Peelo and composting it, or using it as kindling for the fire, as we do not recommend its continued use.
What to do with Peelo packaging when it has expired?
When the Peelo is really at the end of its life cycle, you can cut it into small pieces and throw it in the compost. Or cut it into longer strips, twist them and you can use them as kindling for the fireplace in the fireplace or on the grill.
